After two years of molding, shaping, and creating this manuscript – I have to let go.
Have I done enough? Have I made my points clear enough – transparent enough – funny enough?
I received my galley copy from my publisher about ten days ago. I was visiting my daughter at her college, staying in her dorm for a long weekend, when I discovered my galley copy waiting in my email. Reading through my manuscript from start to finish was exciting. I stayed up until 3am my last night there reading it.
Still, I immediately saw the few changes the editor had made.
When I read books, or listen to people speak, I’m always amazed at their calm demeanor, their confident presence. Hitting the “send” button on my manuscript yesterday, I felt neither calm or confident. The feelings of raising a child are unshakable.
I plan on sharing excerpts of my book here. Don’t be a stranger. If you’re a too busy-mom, or know one – send her a link!

I can’t wait to see it!
Yay! I’m SO excited for you Joanne! I can’t wait until I get my REAL, live copy delivered… so exciting and we’re getting SO CLOSE!
