One response was given by the innkeeper when Mary and Joseph wanted to find a room where the Child could be born. The innkeeper was not hostile; he was not opposed to them, but his inn was crowded; his hands were full; his mind was preoccupied. This is the answer that millions are giving today. Like a Bethlehem innkeeper, they cannot find room for Christ. All the accommodations in their hearts are already taken up by other crowding interests. Their response is not atheism. It is not defiance. It is preoccupation and the feeling of being able to get on reasonably well without Christianity.
Billy Graham

I used to be like that. I didn’t have time to “get involved”. I could pray at home. I didn’t want to “blow” part of my weekend at church. But when I finally made time for Jesus, He made time for me. He showed me how much time I actually did have for him. Soon, I went looking for Him, seeking His company, longing to be near Him. He’s my sweet constant now. I don’t know what I used to do that took up so much of my time, but I see others doing it. I pray for them. I don’t know if anyone prayed for me when I was supposedly too occupied. But if someone did, thank you. This world keeps us so busy. But we’re not meant for this world. Why are we so wrapped up in it?
