In case you’re wondering…I have LOTS on my to-do list before Christmas arrives. Some of those things I’m still debating on accomplishing; things like Christmas cards, pound cakes for my neighbors (a tradition I kept up in California), and a few other small things like mailing the relatives a little something from us here in Tennessee and shopping for gifts for our children.
This morning I woke up feeling anxious. Peace eluded me. In case you’re in my shoes today, here’s some scriptures I’m paying close attention to this morning, along with a song that has blessed my soul for quite awhile.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed and even a bit anxious, hit “play” on the song then read God’s word below. It’s my spiritual prescription for you (and me) today.
Love you friends!
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.Isaiah 26:3
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
I was so rushed yesterday with two catering jobs back-to-back and a flat tire to boot! After all was said and done, I still found the energy to clean my house in preparation for Christmas (as nothing is done yet – nothing). Waking up this morning to get an early start at it (including purchasing a full set of tires to replace my threadbare ones) I anticipate hitting the ground running. This song was so soothing to my soul. I’ll still hit the ground running, but it won’t seem so rushed as I know God is in control. Thanks for this Joanne. I sure needed it! PS, I just added pound cake to my “to do list” today.
