Are you tired of the same old boring routine? Exhausted from running on that treadmill called life day in and day out? Or, maybe you’re wanting to take the time and learn something new?
Yes to all the above, please.
God has given us a sound mind, a miraculous body, and a spirit unlike anything else He created.
Whether you’re in the Body – Soul – Spirit or the Mind – Body – Spirit camp –All three are in need of a tune-up around here.
When it comes to
{My mind}
I’ve a bazillion ideas and thoughts running through my head ALL. THE. TIME. So much so, that I’m overwhelmed by them all and move forward with almost none of them. It’s like head constipation. I’ll be seeking out a great way to set a few plans in motion and then FINALLY accomplish them.
Along those lines, it’s time for me to STOP being so dang negative…in my head. If I could play my negative thoughts out loud I’d be ashamed. Time to begin taking my thoughts captive and renewing my mind for good this year.
And, since we’re on the topic of organization you can go here and choose from an array of articles on the subject. I’m sure there’s some nuggets you can pick up.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
{My body}
I’m no longer in highs school, in case you were wondering, so this body has goals that are WAY different than they were thirty years ago. Don’t get me wrong. I haven’t given up just yet, but fitting into my jeans isn’t the top priority for cutting back on sugar and carbs anymore. Now, I want to eat healthy because I’m feeling pretty terrible lately.
HUGE BUMMER, right?
I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease a few months ago and I’m FINALLY looking into getting some solid guidance there. When I don’t eat dairy, sugar or red meat I feel really good. But, I don’t do it for long. This week I’ll be watching this FREE seminar. You can find out more on my friend’s website, then stick around for some recipe ideas.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19
{My spirit}
Are you discouraged? Bitter? Emotionally depleted?
You might need a spirit check.
When I’m discouraged about a relationship, frazzled over busyness or struggling with a few cranky days, most often it’s because I’m not plugged in to the very ONE who tells me to be still.
Have you gone on a date with Jesus lately?
My two high-schoolers leave for school at 6:30am. Then it’s game-on for me. I enjoy a warm mug of coffee and sit and read my devotion. Write in my journal. It’s like a slice of Heaven on earth for me. This is where my spirit connects with His. I can almost feel myself sinking in to a peacefulness.
This year some of our family and a few friends are reading through the Bible together.
At Christmas we shared our idea with the kids and passed out the calendar schedule for reading through the Bible chronologically. We didn’t order or mae our kids join in. A few are doing their own thing. But, for those like me who wanted some accountability we’re reading together. Each day, Paul sends out a group text with some thought provoking points.
Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you. 2 Timothy 1:14
In His Love,
Joanne
