Bloggers are daily history-keepers – storytellers online. Some use their white space as a journal, a personal diary, holding nothing back. Some share what’s on their hearts, putting out there what might make a husband cringe.
I speak from experience here.
But, how personal is too personal?
There are lots of things that go on under our roof I’d never think to announce to the world. Some things are so GOOD, I wish I had the guts! I wanted to blog about Samuel spitting for the first time. I wanted to blog about Franklin Graham and his uninvite to the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer. I wanted to blog about the new abortion documentary coming out soon. I want to blog lots of things I don’t blog about.
For the most part, I try to keep my blog a home where my children wouldn’t be too embarrassed to hang out with me.
But, it sure does keep me from sharing my heart sometimes. In honor of bloggers with the guts to be way too personal, I thought I’d share three not-very-glowing personal things.
1. I’m judgemental. Remember, I’m a police dispatcher. I get paid very well to answer a 911 call and “judge”.
My judgemental-muscle is rock hard.
2. My relationships need help. When I’m hurt by someone I cut them off. Not a very good personality-trait to have.
3. I’m selfish.
Well, I’d like to say that feels better, but I can’t.
