Do you have any advice for parents in the empty nest stage? My 18 year old daughter left home mid year in Senior High School. She was always the obedient helpful child with a plan strength and goals. She started being promiscuous and shacking up with a guy , smoking pot and drinking and occasionally. She’s been outstandingly responsible with jobs, the started classes at a community college, but doesn’t live at home…. we’ve never officially had a conversation about it, and most of her belongings are here at the house, her bedroom the way she left it. She’s always upbeat when she calls me to say hi,we meet for lunch once per week. She thinks we get along better living apart but I think that’s an excuse for justifying her Independence or waywardness. I don’t know weather or even how to do this butt do I tell her that she’s got to decide if she’s living here and being somewhat supported financially and emotionally or is she going to go out on her own and pay most of her way for everything?
I’m getting used to her not being around and my living alone, as my 20 year old son just moved out of town for the adventure of a different college life experience.. she lives with that guy still the townspeople he’s not relationship material and he’s a bad influence on her so I’m a bit dismayed and Confused that she still stays with him.
