When I began to read Lynn Donovan and Dineen A. Miller’s book; Winning Him Without Words – 10 Keys to Thriving in Your Spiritually Mismatched Marriage I was immediately engrossed.
Wow. This is really good stuff. I thought to myself, as I sipped my nonfat vanilla latte. I admit it. I pre-judged this book. I figured it was only for women married to non-believers. Gals who don’t have husband’s who share their same love for Jesus. These precious ladies usually sit alone or in the back of the church. Dropping of their kids at youth group and serving in many capacities…alone.
Except, Winning Him Without Words isn’t only for these women. It’s a phenomenal marriage book that has something for all of us who desire to love our husband’s the way God calls us to.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lynn Donovan for the first time in 2007, at the She Speaks conference in North Carolina. Two California girls way out of their west-coast element. We clicked immediately. I still recall her sharing her heart’s desire, to write a book for spiritually mismatched marriages. She hoped to encourage women who have walked miles in her unequally yoked shoes.
Humble. Kind. Funny. Adorable. I was smitten with Lynn.
Fast forward two years, Lynn and I were speakers at a blog conference in Florida. She is just as adorable in pajamas, by the way.
