Wreaths in the south? They’re EVERYWHERE. They hang on doors in every part of town. And they’re adorable. Of course, I had to join the frenzy. I mean, my front door looked naked without one.
And, let’s be honest, a NAKED front door—AND being from California? Um, yeah, that wasn’t going to set the right tone with my new neighbors.
When we moved to the south I knew I’d love quite a bit of the culture–especially the decor. For years I’d decorated my home with the best country charm my money could buy –at garage sales and thrift stores.
I learned how to paint furniture and decorate on a dime. Yeah, I knew I’d love it here.
But, you know what? I still had no idea just how over-the-top some of the women out here are with decorating their homes for the holidays.
Even their mailboxes are topped with gargantuan bows of sparkly mesh and burlap.
When my husband left town on a business trip, I kept my regular date with Hobby Lobby and gathered what I needed to make my red door acceptable.

I have a large box in my southern attic with a wide variety of wreaths. Pretty soon – I’ll have to put up the Christmas ones. Can you believe it? I am noticing the colors of fall more this year – perhaps because I’m trapped inside these days. My walks are glorious. I can feel the seasonal shift in my soul as well. Blessings, sweet friend. Love your wreath and your warm heart.
